Handmade Tiles	Metal and Clay Sculpture	Mosaics	Workshops

Helen Helwig makes handmade tile, metal and clay sculptures and mixed media mosaics. In addition to public art projects, Helen is often an Artist-in-Residence in schools and a director of community-participation art projects. She also teaches workshops on creating handmade tile and mosaics. Recent workshops have included table mosaics, memory mosaics, flowerpot mosaics, bird bath mosaics, stepping stone mosaics and design/installation of large outdoor wall mosaics (This last workshop was sponsored by the Tile Heritage Foundation and installed at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Arizona). A handmade tile and mosaic tesserae workshop taught participants to create their own pieces using relief, incising and stamping techniques.
